Hi iFCB,

OK, so here's my deal:

I'm working in Ableton, got the FCB1010 b/c I'm a woodwind player, want to be hands-free, etc.

I read on a forum or two that Ableton responds best to CC#s, so that's been my focus in assigning presets thus far.

iFCB seemed like a great facilitator at the time, being able to see assignments before me, etc., but I just haven't gotten it going like when I just program the footboard manually.

I might, for example, start a new day after letting frustration subside, iFCB will find the 1010 via a Midi 1x1, receive what's assigned on it and I then try to tweak the settings from the list view (I recently discovered "enable" - duh). I then follow the instructions for sending the modifications via Sysex Send, after which iFCB ceases to recognize the 1010 (and so does Ableton)! From there I typically follow the FCB1010 manual to restore factory presets - although today even that won't get iFCB recognizing it. Restarting the computer didn't seem to help either.

Any thoughts? If we got even that far I would ask you about assigning it to toggle on/off where I want (LEDs on the board reflecting that), but I'm not even that far.

Best,
Matt

Also, I read the other posts on troubleshooting and the MidiSport Uno 1x1 - I'm reluctant to say my Uno is defective b/c at least it works in other apps (granted, I'm only sending in those, not receiving)... and occasionally iFCB does recognize the connection. Mostly though, when I do the Receive test in iFCB it's not blinking through the clear blue case nor on the footboard LED. I can't tell if my Uno has a serial #, it doesn't say one on it and I don't have the manual anymore. But it's pretty old, dark blue, maybe 4-5 years old? I updated its driver to work with Mac OS 6.0 Snow Leopard and that didn't seem to help.

After a long day of testing I think we got the problem figured out....In short, there's something not quite right with that MIDI IN jack on your FCB1010.
